“In order to win at life, you need some Kim K skills, period.” – Kanye West
Yesterday, the best thing on Twitter came from the EPA.

"I'm now a C-list celebrity in Kim Kardashian: Hollywood. Come join me and become famous too by playing on iPhone!" tweeted the governmental agency with an iTunes link to download Kim Kardashian’s latest venture, a game for mobile devices.
Clearly a mistake, the Twitterverse went crazy, especially since the tweet wasn’t deleted until three hours after being posted. The idea of the EPA not only playing the game, but requesting help to increase their celebrity status sounds like a Saturday Night Live sketch.
I don’t think anyone was fooled into thinking that this is how the EPA wanted the nation’s help, but it was funny to roll with it, to just pretend that even Gina McCarthy couldn’t escape the Kardashian eclipse.
These twitter mistakes are my favorite thing on the internet. Whether intentional, like J. C. Penney’s “mitten-texting” during the Superbowl this year, or not, as is the case most of the time, they are funny when they don’t hurt anyone and when it is later confirmed that some poor entry level PR person didn’t lose their job (obviously, I’m a little sensitive to this issue – have mercy on us, world!).
And when these tweets take over my twitter feed, always at the most random time, I am glad.
This week, Georgia reporters are talking about the runoff election and children who die in hot cars. The world is talking about the latest unfortunate Malaysian Airlines disaster and the newest Gaza Strip conflict.
While I would rather shun society before purposefully avoiding sad news stories, the break in the breaking news is like a ray of sunshine on my Twitter feed. These small, candid moments that instantly go viral are refreshing, and a reminder that people are still able to smile.
So thank you, Kim K, for restoring my faith in humanity. Is there anything you can’t do?
